VP of the Outdoor Advertising Company. The first person to receive a Carnegie Medal for heroism, when at the age of 14 he saved a man from drowning.

At that age he was also a well-known soprano, appearing before President William McKinley and later singing at his funeral. He sang for Pope Leo XIII, King Edward VII and Emperor Wilhelm II of Germany.

When his voice broke, he applied himself to the study of music abroad, but eventually returned and entered the advertising business.
