Brother Of Former City Controller Was 73

Thomas Sloane of Drifton, 73, brother of late City Controller Charles Sloane, died yesterday afternoon at the Hazleton Hospital. He fractured his hip in a fall at his garden on Friday afternoon and was removed to the hospital where he suffered a stroke yesterday morning from which he passed away in the afternoon.
Born in England, he came to this country as a youth and had since resided in Drifton. He was a boilermaker by trade. He was a member of St. Ann's Church, Freeland.
Surviving are a brother Jerry, Freeland, and several nieces and nephews. The body has been removed to the McNulty Funeral Home, Center street, Freeland, from where the funeral will be held Wednesday morning with a requiem mass at 9:30 in St. Ann's Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
