Fredrick Allen “Chuck” Stegmann, 78, of Saginaw Township, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 22, 2017.

He was born on February 2, 1939, to the late Theodore and Anna (Steinke) Stegmann. They both preceded him in death.

Chuck was a lifelong resident of Mid-Michigan and a dedicated Dow Chemical employee. He was an outgoing and friendly man, known for his love of family and friends. He will be remembered for his easy smile and was also known as a “snazzy” dresser. He loved fashion and was always the most handsome man in the room. He was an avid sports fan, and especially loved the Detroit Tigers. His favorite hobbies included dancing, concerts and walking with his friends at the Fashion Square Mall.

Chuck was a devoted grandfather that delighted in each of his grandchildren’s many talents. He faithfully attended their individual activities and award ceremonies, such as Chelsea’s 18 years of dance recitals, Jordan’s sports career (T-ball through his days at Hope College), and Christian’s many concerts and academic recognitions throughout his Junior and High School years.

Surviving him are his beloved children, daughter, Shellie (Jeff) Herman of Midland and son, Kris (Jackie) Stegmann of Traverse City; his cherished and loving companion, Sherry Kateel of Saginaw, two step-sisters, Carol (Kris) Kuhlman of Midland and Beverly Grubb of South Bend Indiana., three grandchildren, Chelsea (Tom) Cronkright of Midland, Jordan Herman and girlfriend Rachel of Grand Rapids and Christian Stegmann of Honolulu, Hawaii, two great-grandchildren, Luke and Olivia Cronkright, also of Midland. Lastly, but not to be forgotten, his precious pup Abby.

Funeral services will be held at Ware-Smith Woolever in Midland, with Pastor Bob Allmann officiating. Funeral visitation will be on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. with the funeral directly following at 11 a.m. Additionally, there will be visitations on Friday, February 24, 2017, between 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Ware-Smith Woolever in Midland.
