Cheryl Elaine Odle, 67, the love and inspiration to so many. She walked pain free through the gates of Heaven on Monday 5/29/2017. She was at home with her children and surrounded by prayers of peace.

There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 6 from 4-7 pm at Grace Church, 800 W. Oak St, Mahomet. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 7 at 10:00 am at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Mahomet. Blair-Owens Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born June 15, 1949, to Albert and Shirley Castelli in Detroit, Michigan. Cheryl Castelli-Zindars married Roger Odle on December 13, 2014. Cheryl and Jerry Zindars were married for 27 years and continued a good friendship. She is welcomed into heaven by her parents and her brother, David Castelli.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Roger Odle; her Children Carl (Heather) Zindars of Charlotte, North Carolina, Paul (Angie) Zindars of Mahomet, Shelly (Zackary) Timm of Mahomet. She is also survived by her step children with Roger Odle; Roger Jr. (Lori) Odle, Kristine (Bill) Oliger, Rebecca Walters, Brandon (Joy) Odle.

She was a fiercely devoted grandmother. Cheryl and Roger have 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Cheryl graduated from Michigan State in 1971. She worked for social security administration in Wyoming, Colorado and Illinois. She recently retired from Busey Bank February 2016 after 27 years of employment. She adored her Busey family. She was married to a wonderful man that agreed to all of her adventures. She was an incredibly supportive mother and a beloved Cici and Granny. She was always up for spending time with her family and friends. She would make others a priority even if it was an inconvenience to herself. She has been a big part of Mahomet community and even though she is not with us her influence and spirit will live on and motivate others.

She was active in countless organizations. She was a long time member of Mahomet Town and Country Woman’s Club, which she served for over 23 years. A member of Grace Church of Mahomet for 39 years. She was a strong supporter of our community, the Red Cross, Mahomet Area Youth Club, Mahomet Chamber, Champaign Ski Club, Bunco nights, and “recipe” club. She was so sad she had to leave us but she was ready for the new adventure and to be with God. She had a strong faith that has carried her through this life and He welcomed her when it was the end of her time with us.
