Barbara attended the Wausau School District, Wausau, Wisconsin and graduated in 1970 from Wausau East High School. She attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison and received a BA in Social Work in 1974. She was working on a Masters Degree in Public Health until illness interfered with her quest (MS). Barbara had one child, a son Ahren in 1977(?). Barbara eventually required constant assistance in about 2004. In 2010 the multiple sclerosis defeated her long battle. Barbie was a very loving and caring person, she was as "smart as a whip" and had she not become ill, she would have soared even higher. Circumstances prevented her from being an involved parent, but she loved her son deeply.
