Sandlin Jones
Sandlin Jones, 70, 33 S. 16th St., died Friday, Sept. 4, at his residence after long illness.
He was a native of Manchester, Ky., and had resided in Richmond since 1948. He was a former employee of F7N Lawnmower Co. and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Edith; three daughters, Barbara Ann Conder of Richmond, Brenda Thompson of Richmond, and Etta Burnell of Indianapolis; one stepdaughter, Marty Southard of Richmond; two stepsons, Ronnie Crawford of Richmond, and John Crawford of Clarksville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; one brother, Jim Jones of Livingston, Ky.; six sisters, Janie Rasner of Manchester, Ky., Susie Philpot of Richmond, Mallie Gray of Manchester, Ky., Laura Hicks of Centerville, Claudia Cottongim of Richmond, and Lydia Bailey of Centerville; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dave and William Jones.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with the Rev. Gilmer Smith and the Rev. Steve Fox officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept 7, at the funeral home.
