The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 27, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Stickell passed away, suddenly, Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Tony was the son of Samuel Joseph and Mattie Jane Stickell and, a life-long resident of Shreveport. He will be remembered as a caring teacher, employed by the Caddo Parish School Board. Many years were spent teaching at C.E. Byrd High School and Hamilton Terrace Adult Education. He was well loved by the faculty and the students. Tony had a heart for others; thus, he spent his last few years as a caregiver for those who could not care for themselves. Among his hobbies were fishing and gardening. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. Tony will, forever, be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Stickell was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dozier, Samuel, Nicholas and James Stickell; sister, Audie Valentine; granddaughter, Mary Katherine Stickell.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Alan Stickell and wife, Amber of Gonzalez, LA; daughter, Ana Lise Stickell of Shreveport; sisters, Susie Stayton of Boyce, LA, Edna Chenault of Shreveport and, Norma Ford of Pineville, LA; brothers, L.C. Stickell of Pineville, LA, Larry Stickell and Wayne Stickell, both of Boyce, LA; grandchildren, Madeline Grace and Edie Christine Stickell; life-long friend, Greg Venable and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Wayne Dawson, John Dawson, Jack Lenox, IV, Wayne Stickell, Larry Stickell and James Stickell. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Valentine, Michael Roberts, Charles Byram and Samuel Chenault.
