Mrs. Armstrong moved from Charlottesville, Virginia, to Summerfield, five years ago. She retired from Centel Telephone Company after 35 years of service and was a member of Cherry Avenue Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Herndon and her husband, Rudy, of Summerfield, Florida; a sister, Norma Ruth Bickers of Lake Monticello, Virginia; three grandchildren, Tammara Cassidy of Tennessee, Christopher T. Herndon of California, and Anita L. Lilly of Virginia; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Ann Lilly and her husbands, John A. Lanum and Milton L. Armstrong.
A graveside service was held Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Riverview Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to the local hospice or American Heart Fund.
