Former Bremerton resident David E. Crawford, 93, of Vancouver, Wash., died Sept. 4 in Vancouver.
Born in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, to Almond and Darrell Crawford, he grew up in Kalispell, Mont., graduating from Flathead Valley High School there. In 1934, he married Erma Gregoire in Grand Forks, N.D.
Mr. Crawford worked with the Bremerton Fire Department for 30 years, retiring as fire marshall in 1973. Previously, he was employed with Glacier National Park, the Montana Highway Department and Rumsy Construction in Bremerton.
He had served as president of the Kiwanis Club in Bremerton.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Dennis (Alta) of Port Townsend and Kenneth (Gloria) of Port Ludlow; sister, May Sautel of Olympia; grandchildren, Denetta, David, Laurie, Kenda, Kim and Seth; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial was held in Vancouver Sept. 10.
