Animal Actor. A trained chimpanzee, known professionally as Peggy, she eventually became indistinguishable from the role of Bonzo in the 1951 film "Bedtime for Bonzo," and its sequel, "Bonzo Goes To College." The chimp won a "Patsy" - the animal equivalent of the Oscar – for her portrayal. In later years, working under the Bonzo name, the chimp was an animal performer in a traveling circus.
