Was commander of the Command Services Unit,a branch of the
Air Force Office of Information,at Bolling Air Force Base.
Awarded the Legion of Merit,Distinguished Flying Cross,Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters,Air Force Commendation Medal and many service ribbons.
Entered the Army Air Corps in 1941 and received his pilot's wings in October 1942.
During World War II he flew P-47 fighters in France and Italy,accumulating more than 100 combat missions.
He joined the Air Force's information program when it was organized in 1953 and was instrumental in planning many of its radio and television stations around the world.Retired in November 1967.
