When Binkie Lynn was a puppy she was picked out because she was thought to be a Rottweiler.

She wasn't, but if anyone ever told her that she wasn't she either ignored them or didn't hear them, probably the former.

She stood maybe all of a foot tall at her shoulders but as far as she was concerned she was indeed as big or bigger than any Rottweiler that ever walked the face of the earth.
She feared nothing.... NOTHING!!

Binkie was very protective of her mom and dad, she loved them with all her little Rottweiler size heart. (her middle name is for her mom) She did not however care for her Aunt B. (me!)

She tolerated me simply because, I think, she knew that her mom and dad kinda liked me, so I was fairly safe. I'd still get a look from her that could wilt weeds. She'd roll her eyes and give a deep 'huff' that would ruffle her lips and just lay and watch me. I think she was waiting for me to kick over dead!! AND she'd have worked day and night for as long as it took to bury my butt, too.(Bless her heart she was usually such a great judge of character, too.)

She did not like for me to set on HER blankie on HER couch.
I could set there but all the while she'd being laying with her little feet against me and I could feet her pushing against my leg. If I moved an inch I lost that inch. Same thing when she and I would share the back seat when we were on a road trip with her mom and dad... and I use the word "share" VERY lightly. She didn't know the meaning of the word share and was not interested in the least in learning it either! ~:)

For the first few years of her life, Binkie was a city dog, but she didn't like being called that.
THEN she moved to the country and was in her own private heaven.

From the time she set foot on HER home ground she was a constant tormentor of any ground hog, rabbit, squirrel or chipmunk that she hit the scent of. To the dismay of her mom, Binkie loved to munch on baby rabbits. If she could run it down and get it down her throat it was fair game as a meal or to be buried for later. (After Sissie came to live with her, Sissie would watch where Binkie buried her goodies and then she'd go dig'em up and SHE'D eat'em!)

Many's the time her dad would have to go and drag her out of a groundhog den and doctor her nose and ears from the bites of the den owner, but as soon as she was out the door she'd be back digging to get to whatever varmint she'd had tree'd.

You could look across the holler behind her house and watch her on the hillside checking out fallen trees, big rocks for small critters or any of the numerous ground hog or chipmunk burrows. She knew the location of all of them.

And she loved to fight with lizards. Her dad watched her one day after she'd cornered a big ole mean lizard (maybe 6 or 7 inches long) and was in a life and death tussle with it. Her dad tells it that she'd get 'ahold of it and fling it a few feet through the air, the lizard would land, scrabble around and get on its feet and raise up and blow at her. She was not one to take lip from anyone or anything, much less a lowly lizard, so she'd wade in again risking life and limb to latch onto the monster again and the process would start all over again.

Her dad says that he watched the 'battle' for a long time and laughed til his sides hurt. Binkie didn't care, she was doing what she loved to do and makin her most favoritest human laugh all at the same time.

When she was a puppy she was let into her mom's yard and got to play with a big sister, Sassy Joe. Sassy was a dalmation and a good two foot taller than Binkie but it was love at first site, well sometimes. I think being her rambunctious puppy self, she got on big sister's nerves at times.

A few years ago Binkie was presented with a baby sister, Sissie. She may've met her match, well not really, but Sissie gave her a run for her money.

They loved to go to town with dad. He'd always get'em goodies from whatever fast food place he stopped at, not that they were spoiled... they just knew that they deserved whatever he got'em, that and more.

Binkie was a furbaby with NO patience for the in-adequacies of any human or any other creature on this earth. All she had to do was to tap her 'raptor' claw on the ground and you knew you were in deep doo-doo. She was the queen of her domain and it never bothered her to let you know just how you rated with her. (I was down pretty low on her totem pole, but I love the little fart anyway)

She hated having her picture taken. You had to be really sneaky to get a picture of her much less a really good one!

She is loved so much and will be missed for a very long time.

Big sister, Sassy, met her at the rainbow bridge and they'll wait there for Sissie to join'em one day.

Until then there'll be plenty of things to keep'em occupied and content.

Binkie is buried on a spot that overlooks the land that she loved and as far as she was concerned, belonged to just her.
Well... and to dad!

Hey, Binkie!! You must love the grave marker your dad fixed for your grave. Two huge rocks that he hauled up with his tractor. I can see you now, standing on those rocks surveying all your kingdom!
