She graduated from Fort Scott High School and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was an active volunteer at St. Thomas More Hospital for a number of years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Canon City.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Lucy Mattix, Littleton, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Nathan McDonald "Bob" Howard.
The Rev. Dennis Sillaman officiated at Memorial Services April 17 at Holt Chapel of the Garden. Interment was at the Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions are recommended to the First United Methodist Church of Canon City. Services were under the direction of the Holt Family Funeral Home.
