My Great-Grandmother. The daughter of John and Jane Dean, she was born in West Yorkshire, England. Married William R. Linney in 1884 and had four children: Laura (my Grandmother), Bertha, Olive, and Robert. In 1891 they emigrated to the United States and settled in Newark, New Jersey, where Frances raised the children while William was active in mission work. After William's death in 1922 she moved to the Newark suburb of Irvington. She died of lobar pneumonia.
