Private First Class, US Army.  He was inducted into the Army in New York state, and was assigned to the 112th Infantry Regiment of the 28th Infantry Division (Keystone Division).  He came ashore in Normandy following the D-Day invasion, and was killed in action in Brittany, France.  He was awarded the Purple Heart for the wounds that killed him.
