Surviving are his wife Rosanne Block of Gilson; his parents John R. Block and Sue Block of Washington, D.C.;
(2) sons, J. Addison Block and J. Logan Block; (3) daughters, Peironnet Block, Layton Block, and Ryan Marie Block, all of Gilson; and (2) sisters, Cynthia Block of Union, Ky., and Christine (James) Lonergan of Washington, D.C.. He is preceededed in death by his grandparents, Julius "Judd" and Madeline Block.
He was raised and educated in Gilson, attending and graduating from Knoxville H.S., the class of 1977.
He received his bachelor of science degree in business from
Stetson University in DeLand, Florida.
He then returned immediately to manage Block Farms in Gilson at the age of 21.
He was a member of Knox County Pork Producers; he was active in the former Knoxville Jaycees; and a member of Grace Church-Anglican of Galesburg.
He enjoyed sailing, snow skiing and spending time with his family.
