Frank was a member of Co.A, 12th Ohio Cavalry. His obituary is in the Sept. 17, 1886 Bucyrus Journal. He is buried in Oceola, Ohio, on the farm of Captain Harter. Frank attended several reunions. When music was played, he would trot up under the flag, ready for battle. His rider, Abe Conger, is buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Franklin county, Ohio.
