Michael John Peters, loving father of three and devoted husband to his wife Jennifer, was called to heaven unexpectedly on December 13, 2013, at the age of 42. Married for over 17 years, Mike and Jen raised three beautiful children: Abbie (15), Adam (13) and Aiden (9) in their close knit community in Chandler, Arizona. Mike believed his greatest achievement in life was his family whom he loved dearly and made him proud to be a father.

Mike was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 4, 1971. An Arizona native, he graduated from Shadow Mountain High School in 1989, and later graduated from Northern Arizona University with a double major in Pre Physical Therapy and Advertising. Mike grew up in the loving care of his mother Judy and his late father John Howard Peters III. The friendship he shared with his sister Kristi, and lifelong bond formed with his family, shall never be broken. The strong family foundation from his youth, is testament to the man that he became.

The family he created with Jen, loved and adored him beyond measure. Not a single day went by, that he did not entirely devote himself to providing them with happiness. He was their rock, their soft place to fall, and their hero. You would always find him engaged in activities with his kids, waiting eagerly at the school bus stop, spending quality time with his wife (including playing chase in the house every single day), and tirelessly supporting his children's academics and social enrichment. His youthful spirit and playful disposition, combined with his zest for life, was the driving force behind his family's many adventures, including annual trips to Disneyland. His children's love of "All Things Disney" is because of their Daddy, and they will forever cherish the memories made on their recent Disney Dream Cruise.

Mike has always given back to his community on many levels. He mostly enjoyed coaching and mentoring countless kids over the years on his children's softball, baseball, soccer, football, volleyball, basketball and football teams. At his children's elementary school, Basha Elementary, Mike "coincidentally" was always chosen to be the "token dad" field trip volunteer. Over the years, he also volunteered his valuable time educating all grade levels in Junior Achievement.

Mike's dynamic personality was contagious and anyone who met him instantly became a friend. Those closest to him, were deemed lucky (or unlucky) enough to be on the receiving end of his nonstop pranks, wise cracks, and jovial antics. Those closest to him also knew how much he LOVED football. He coached the sport, played the sport, loved being the commissioner of yearly fantasy NFL leagues, and was often known to place side bets on top of side bets to add to the friendly competition. Being an Arizona native, ASU and the Cardinals held a special place in his heart, therefore he never missed cheering them on with his buddies or children by his side.

Professionally, Mike received numerous awards and was recognized as one of the best in his industry. He was humble in his achievements. He started his professional sales career as a young, hungry, newlywed at Insight in 1996. His quick wit, infectious smile and commitment to his work, helped him grow through the ranks quickly to a Sales Director position. Mike's ability to lead others was a direct result of his caring spirit and relentless drive to help people. After eight successful years at Insight, Mike was presented with an opportunity to join Ergotron, Inc. During his seven year tenure with Ergotron, in a nationwide role, Mike continued to build his professional network, grow sales, and touch every individual he encountered with a smile. Most recently, Mike has spent the last two years employed by Humanscale, as a Healthcare Channel Manager. Tasked with developing a channel wide strategy, Mike's success has again pointed back to his ability to touch people, and make friends with whomever he encountered. Over the last 17 years as a professional, Mike has gained the respect and love of his fellow colleagues, teammates, customers, and competitors alike with the same quick wit, infectious smile, and caring spirit that launched his career in 1996.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Jennifer (Iverson) Peters, his three cherished children Abbie, Adam and Aiden. His mother Judy (Foley) Peters of Phoenix, sister Kristi (Peters) and Mike Montgomery of Washington. Parents in law Van and MJ Hunter of New Mexico. Sisters in law, Carly (Iverson) Hunter of Chandler, Tiffany (Iverson) and Richard Nocella of New York. Uncle Mike was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, Jessika, Tessa, Ryan, Brenden, Jack, Ellie, Andrew, Claire and Christopher.

A Memorial Mass in honor of Mike's life will be held Friday, December 27, 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Faith Community. 3450 W. Ray Rd, Chandler, Az. Following the mass, a reception will be held at Hennessy Hall on the St. Andrew's campus. For those who would like to participate, a Rosary Vigil will be held prior to the service at 12:00 p.m.
