Nancy is the daughter of James and Lucretia Stafford. She married Thomas Jenkins, April 18, 1818. They had 11 children: Mary, Matilda, Joshua, Lucretia, James, Nancy Ann, Nehemiah, Joseph, Elizabeth, Bartholomew, and Druzilla.

Thomas and Nancy traveled with 10 of their children by flat-boat on the river from Morgantown, WV - heading west for a more healthy climate (at the time, Morgantown was very damp). Thomas became very ill with malaria, so they went to shore in IN. He died shortly afterwards and is buried in the Hebron Church Cemetery in Jefferson County, IN.

Nancy went on to Johnson Co., IN. She remained there until most of her children married. Later, she went to Iowa (where several of her children were living) - she lived in Iowa until her death in 1875.
