Luther Broyles, Jr, 86, of Avon, died July 9, 2004 [at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville]. He was born December 31, 1917 to Luther and Hazel (Seymour) Broyles, Sr. Mr. Broyles was a farmer and school bus driver for Avon Community Schools for 24 years, retiring in 1986. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (Cain) Broyles. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 12 at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, with visitation from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. Burial: Danville South Cemetery, at a later date. Survivors include his children, Dale Broyles of Brownsburg and Robin Broyles of Roachdale; grandsons, Kyle Broyles and Michael Sawyer; brother, Glen (Esther) Broyles of Plainfield; and sister, Florence (Herman) Ragsdale of Pittsboro.
His birth occurred in Hendricks County, Indiana according to online records posted for the county. However, his name was recorded as Luther P Broyle and so was his father's. His mother was correctly recorded as Hazel Seymour. According to his father's WWI draft registration and the 1920 census, the family lived in Lincoln Township, Brownsburg, Indiana when he was born.
