My mother was the ninth child of fourteen and lived in Spreckles,CA where she lived her entire life until she met my Dad, John Lloyd Tyler, while they both worked at Spreckels Sugar Factory, where her father was a train engineer for the short-line railroad there. They lived in a company-owned house until both parents died in the early fourties. She gave birth to eight children seven of whom lived to have children of rheir own. she had eight grandchildren when she died. She was cremated and her ashes were spread in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Southern California.
