Source; Decatur Review, Saturday 22, September 1934 Charles Thomas Collins, Dies in Chicago, Former well known resident here, was 64 years old, Charles T. Collins, for many years a resident of Decatur, died at 6 p.m. Friday in his home 4247 Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago of pneumonia and Heart trouble, his condition became serious two weeks ago. News of his death came to his son-in-law, P. E. Scales, 1628 East Walnut Street. The body is being brought to the Moran and Sons Funeral home for burial in Greenwood Cemetery, arrangements for the funeral are incomplete. Charles T. Collins, was born 20 July 1870, and most of his life spent here, for a number of years he was connected with the circulation department of the Review, later he was engaged in City directory work for a number of years, the family moved to Chicago about 12 years ago, of late years he has been engaged in the manufacturing of perfumes. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and of Decatur Lodge No. 165 I.O.O.F. He leaves his second wife, Mrs. Donna (LEE) Collins, and the following children, Charles T. Collins Jr. Peoria, Mrs. Leatta D. Scales and Mrs. Thomas Dillman, Mrs. Helen Torrence and Frank Collins, Decatur, Alexis B. Collins, Chicago, and Montford Collins, El Paso Texas, there are 12 grandchildren, he also leaves a sister, Mrs. Jesse O'Donnell, and half brother Jack Edwards both of Indianapolis.
