George Clough and Sarah McGrady married on July 27, 1868 in Calhoun County, Alabama. They both taught school and George was a lay minister, often having Bible classes with grandchildren at his home. Their children were Mary, William, twins Arthur (and Luther, who died at birth), Thomas, Cora, Naomi and Joseph Jefferson.
