James T. Reed, Sr., 74, of 3747 Merritt, retired tool & die maker for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., died yesterday at his home. Services will be at 2p.m. tomorrow at Forest Hill Funeral Home Midtown with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown. Mr. Reed was a member of Raleigh Baptist Church, the Frayser Masonic Lodge No. 746, the Scottish Rite and the Order of the Eastern Star.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Grace Reed; a daughter, Ms. Laura Ison of Memphis; a brother, Slaughter Reed of Birmingham, Ala., five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
