Accident claims the life of Jermiah Dosser

March 22, 2007

Jermiah Dosser, age 24, was killed on Thursday morning, near Altoona, Iowa, when the motorcycle he was riding was struck from behind by a pickup truck.

Dosser, the son of Rick and Jody Dosser of rural Osage, was a 2001 graduate of the Osage Community High School. While in High School Dosser participated in football, wrestling, track and was member of the OHS National Honor Society. Jeremiah was an All-State football and wrestler and was selected to the Iowa All-Star Football Shrine game his senior year.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office the accident occurred at the intersection of Hubbell and Broadway (NE 46th Ave.) at approximately 5:20 a.m., on Thursday, March 22, 2007. Dosser was on his way to work as he was employed at EMC Insurance Companies, Des Moines, Iowa. Dosser was a Computer Programmer.

The accident involved a motorcycle which was struck from behind by a pickup truck towing a trailer. Preliminary investigation of this accident indicated the motorcycle was stopped at the red light facing southwest on Hubbell Ave. at Broadway. The truck pulling a trailer was also heading southwest on Hubbell Ave. and did not stop at the intersection for the red light striking the motorcycle with the front passenger side of the truck.

At this time charges are pending the completion of the investigation by a Sheriff's Office Technical Accident Investigator.

Life Flight was called to the scene as well as a second rescue unit for the driver of the pickup.

The driver of the pickup has been identified as Richard Fuller, age 48, from Des Moines. Fuller was transported by Altoona Rescue to Mercy. The extent of his injuries are not known but is not believed to be serious.

The family of Jeremiah Dosser aka Slimer aka Jameson Shelby wanted me to let the online community that he was a part of know that he died Thursday morning in a fatal accident. He was a special guy and a beloved friend. He will be missed greatly.

If you were lucky enough to get any of his poems or stories, please let me know. I am collecting them for his mother. They will be displayed at his Memorial Service. If you would like more details (time and place of the service, where to donate memorial funds, etc.) or would like to talk, please shoot me a page, send me an email ([email protected]

I will be holding a memorial service for Slimer who was Ophelia's brother and crew aboard the Guan-Yin next weekend, I will also making it to be a memorial to the player behind the character.

Hello, my name is Slimer Ghost and I'm a recovering Redneck....

"Well my name in RL isn't really Slimer (hope y'all figured that on yer own) but on the interweb thats how I am known. I am primarily a mudder and this is my first mush, joined it because it was the first mush I found that wern't totally borin'.

I have coded for a few muds that shall remain nameless and had my own mud for a while until I went to college and acctually had to spend time doing homewerk, speaking of college I am currently a 5th Year SR CIS (Computer Information Systems) major and a TA (Teaching Assistant) at a small college in Iowa (No corn or pig jokes please, I've heard them all). I will graduate in April and will need a job, so anyone know of one?? Seriously! I know C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, COBOL, SQL, and parts of other languages....

I enjoy off roading (I drive a lifted 74 El Camino that I converted to 4 wheel drive, the ultimate redneck car-trucky-combination-offroad-thingy), hunting, riding quads, motorcycling, sci-fi tv(Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate mostly), sci-fi movies, coding/programming, anything RC, mudding, and now mushing....

I don't enjoy my G/F's mom, all my non-major classes, taxes, people that want to take my guns away, people that say Firefly was a bad TV show(they should all be rounded up and sent to another planet), people that think eating meat is murder(steak anyone?), and police that have nothing better to do then to pull me over and ask if my car came from the factory that way."
