I was in elementry school and he in High School but he treated me like an equal. He was never afraid to speak to me in public when with his friends.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a gifted artist. He also had a great sense of humor.
He died the summer after high school graduation in a freak accident. I didn't know at the age of 12 you didn't have to be sick and old to die. His death affected me more than I could ever have imagined. The way he lived his life has inspired me to be the person I am today.
