Nancy Irene Burklund was born to Hampton Morgan and Verna Edith Calhoun on April 30, 1934 in Austin, Texas and passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on January 14, 2013.
She married Elvin Oscar "Shorty" Burklund on July 16, 1953. He preceded her in death on February 29, 1996.
Nancy was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by five children: Donna Gail Burklund Deel and husband Dennis Deel, Nancy Faye Burklund Nesbit and husband Garry Nesbit, Elvin "Wayne" Burklund and wife Tami Burklund, Laurie Ann Burklund Gorton and husband Gary Gorton and Mark Darrell Burklund; one brother, William Henry "Red" Morgan; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren with four on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Hampton "Bennie" Morgan and two sisters, Betty Joe Morgan and Oneta Faye "Neta" Morgan Powell.
Nancy led a life filled with faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. She was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 Woman; she was virtuous and had an incredible joy for life.
She was the matriarch of our family and she will be dearly missed but we know with certainty that Nancy is in the presence of her Lord and Savior and has found His complete healing and eternal blessed peace.
The many lives she touched have been enriched, and this world is a better place for Nancy having walked this way and her memory will live in our hearts forever.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations should be made to the American Cancer Society.
