Betty Joe (Wood) Little Crabtree, age 85 of Columbus, KS passed from this earth at her home, to Heaven on Saturday, May 10, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born October 25, 1928 in Peoria, OK, the second child of eight children born to Lawrence Leroy "Slim" Wood and Charlotte Jane "Lottie" Large Wood.

Her favorite pastimes were spoiling her grandchildren, collecting owls and angels, and listening to music.

Betty married William Lee "Bill" Little on August 3, 1946 in Columbus, KS. To this union eight children were born. Bill preceded her in death on December 28, 1983.

On April 10, 1999, Betty married David Ben Crabtree in Columbus, KS. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2002.

Survivors include seven children; Wanda Andrews and husband Larry, Betty Burton and husband Jim, Judy Smith, and Jimmie Little all of Columbus, Barbara Jeffrey and husband John of McCune, KS, Linda Duree and husband David of Baxter Springs, KS, and Bobby Little of Turk, KS; two brothers, Larry Gene Wood and Garland Leon Wood both of Commerce, OK; 17 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, a son William Lee "Bill" Little, Jr, four brothers, Willis Leroy, J. C., Alvie, and Bobby Lee Wood, a sister Lavada Marie Power, and a great-grandson, Aiden Marshall Burton, a son-in-law Billy Joe Curtis Smith, and a daughter-in-law, Eva Jo Little.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Derfelt Funeral Home Columbus, KS. Bro. Ray Clonts will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Columbus, KS.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 13 at the funeral home.
