The following obituary was published in the Tyler Morning Telegraph from August 7 to August 8, 2009:

Services for Mrs. Ann L. Campbell, 85, Tyler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Greater Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Efrem Collins officiating.

Burial will be in Hopewell Community Cemetery, Swan, under direction of Community Funeral Home of Tyler.

Mrs. Campbell died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Hospice of East Texas.

She was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Tyler and was a lifelong resident of Smith County. She attended Emmett J. Scott High School, was a housewife and rose grower and was a member of Hopewell Valley Baptist Church, Senior Ladies Sunday School Class, Mission Society and Mission Choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Campbell; two daughters, Evylin Isadore and Ruby Fields; one grandson, Alex Campbell; two granddaughters, Santrisha Weldon and Pamela Clark; seven brothers; four sisters; and one stepson, Matthew Lee.

Survivors include sons, Willie Campbell (Lois), Herbert E. Campbell (Helen), Alfred R. Campbell (Linda), Timothy B. Campbell (Jeannie), Ronnie Campbell, all of Tyler, and Stephen R. Campbell (Joyce) and Earl C. Campbell (Reuna), both of Austin; daughters, Martha Evans and Margret Campbell, both of Tyler; sisters-in-law, Laura McGregor of Tyler and Annie B. Collins of Fort Worth; special friend, Aliene Robertson of Tyler; special niece, Louise Collins Anthony of Tyler; 33 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are grandsons, William Fields, Stephen Evans, Christain Campbell, Amando Clark, De Andre Howard, Cameron McGowen, Victor Campbell, Dwight Evans, Tyler Campbell, Keante Howard, Courtney May and Austin Campbell.

Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons, deacons of Hopewell Valley Baptist Church and brothers of Swan Church of Christ.

Family will receive friends at Hopewell Valley Baptist Church on Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701; or Hopewell Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 4602, Tyler, 75712, in honor of Mrs. Ann L. Campbell.
