Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Railroad engineer for Missouri Pacific Railway 41 years. He helped found and was active with his local union (Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen, Van Bass Lodge #888--now part of the United Transportation Union) during his entire working career. Exempt from military service during World War II for serving in an "Essential War Industry." Active at Blessed Sacrament and St. James Catholic Churches in Memphis and St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach, Florida. Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. Member Memphis Beekeepers Association, frequent volunteer at the Wonders Series, Memphis Zoo, Memphis Pink Palace Museum, Brooks Museum of Art, Josephine K Lewis Center for Senior Citizens.

My father was a kind, loving man who adored his wife and was completely unselfish as far as his family was concerned. He could build or repair just about anything and that's how he spent his time. He was a tireless volunteer until he was very old. He was well liked by just about everybody who ever met him.
