My beloved father passed away in his sleep Thanksgiving morning. He leaves behind my mom, three kids, and six grandkids.
Dad had his demons just like anyone else. But he always made sure that we had food, and a warm bed to sleep in. He taught me so many things. Like how an afternoon can be spent laying on a pickup table and picking out shapes in the sky. Or how even when you are needy yourself, always give something back.
I don't know how I will get over the loss of my dad, who will always be the big strong dad that would carry me in from the car when I was little and fell asleep. Or the one who scooped me up when I fell from the top of a tree to rush me to the car and then the hospital.
Dad, you will be missed...always.
