Adopted from the Michigan Humane Society on Labor Day weekend in 1995, Claude was a 8 week old kitten that stole my heart.
For 3 days I tried to accept the name that had been given him by the workers at MHS, but I ended up calling him anything but...
It seemed what I mostly said was "Where is he?" which was shortened to Izzy when it became apparent that the name fit him perfectly.
Izzy was born with a serious Heart Murmur, so I wasn't able to play with him as much as I'd like. In fact, when he was younger, I had to watch out for him to make sure he didn't overdue it. If he played too hard, he would become short of breath, so I had to make sure he always took it easy.
Although the murmur kept him from playing too much, it didn't stop him completely. He lived to be 18 years old, finally succumbing to hypothyroidism.
