Obituary

Charles P. Abata, 63, beloved husband to Faye (Bradley) Abata for 44 yrs., of New Britain, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011.

Charles was born in Southington, son to the late Charles Paul Abata and Cora Mary Davanzo. He had been employed by CT Transit and had served in the US Marine Corp during Vietnam. Charles had also worked at Stanley Works, it's Cold Metal Products Division; and Mercer and Dunbar for the past 44 years.

He enjoyed golfing and his gardening will be well remembered-awaiting his wonderful tomatoes. He will be greatly missed, not only for his mischievous smile, but all that went with it.

In addition to his loving wife, Alice Faye, he is also survived by his son, Charles P. Abata III of Meriden, a sister, Julia Fioravanti and her husband Henry of Plantsville, his nephew, Dominick Palmisano, a niece, Rose Girardin and her husband Ken and many great nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, James Abata.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:30am in St. Ann Church. Committal services will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, has been entrusted.
