KAYBERTHA BAUCOM, daughter of the late Algin DeRamus and Mary L. DeRamus, was born October 3, 1950 in Pamplico, South Carolina. She departed this life on January 11, 2007 after a lengthy illness.

Kay came to Baltimore, Maryland in 1954. She received Christ at an early age while attending Southern Baptist Church. Kay was very active with the Youth Choir, the Girl Scouts of America and the B.T.U. (Baptist Training Union).

Kay received her formal education through the Baltimore City School System. She received her diploma from Eastern Senior High School. At the age of nineteen, Kay began working at Social Security Administration.

Kay married Earl Hines Baucom, Jr. on June 20, 1970 and out of this union a son was born in 1980, James Everette Baucom. From 1969 until 1979, Kay traveled for bowling tournaments across the United States while also a member of a Social Security Bowling League. Kay and Earl joined Victory Chapel Church In Christ in 1980 and Kay became a member of the Tisdale Gospel Singers from 1985 through 2000. She retired from Social Security Administration in 2005 after thirty-five years of service.

Preceding Kay in death was her sister, Constance Chatlin (who is also located on the Find-A-Grave site).
