Andrea Rodriguez Gauna, a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at 8:50 a.m. in the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville, at the age of 99 years, 10 months, and 2 days.
Andrea was born to Juan Jose and Maria Senac Rodriguez on Nov. 30, 1905, in Losoya. She attended schools in Losoya and was a homemaker and longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.
Andrea married Isidro V. Gauna on Dec. 2, 1921, in San Antonio. Isidro, her husband of more than 81 years, preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2003.
Andrea was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Oralia Rios; an infant son, Andres Gauna; one grandson, David Gauna; a brother; and one sister.
She is survived by her sons, Juan, Jose, and Isidro Gauna Jr.; daughters, Maria Erlinda Carvajal, Hilaria Cooper, and Alice Morales; 29 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
