Mary Anderson Jay, my mother, born Mary Alice Taylor, she was a life long resident of Chester. Daughter of Aline and Harvey Taylor, mother of George, Arlene, Mary, Robert; and Richard (Ricky) and Linwood (who preceded her in death). She is the sister of Virginia Taylor , Madgeline Beluah Taylor , Mildred Robinson, Harvey Taylor, Jr. (deceased), Milton Taylor (deceased), Clifton Taylor (deceased), Ernest Taylor, Sr and Harold Taylor . Mary wrote two songs, her songs were never published, "Best Man" and "Trouble Blues". Besides writing skills, Mary could knit and crochet very well. She was a house-wife who stayed home to care for her children and do all the things a wife had to do. When it came to her children, Mary would go to any extremes to protect them. She would stand up with any man toe-toe and be ready to fist fight if she had to. If you wanted a fight, just rub her the wrong way. She did not bite her tongue, if it was meant to be said, she would say it, if it hurts your feelings, oh well, too bad. Mary had a very free spirited personality and loved to tell jokes. Mary set no boundaries or guidelines when it came to physical activities. She was quite the outdoors person. Mary was a strong person and had lots of energies. She showed her strength up until her death.

Cause of death: Lung Cancer
