"wash" passed away at lee county community hospital in pennington gap, virginia in october of 1946. he died from complications of congestive heart failure. he was the husband of jona, now deceased. children are bill, general grant, earl, james, roy (deceased at 18 months), eppie (cloud) ashburn, twins marie and garland, ben, and of the home, gracie, flora mae, and lee. he was a coal miner and farmer and of the baptist faith. he and jona lived their lives as devout christians and that's the way they raised their children. he was a good husband and father and is missed greatly by his family. he is survived by several grandchildren.
