Canella Blatsioris, 75, of Ogden Dunes, formerly of Gary, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at her residence.
She was the daughter of George and Jane Fafoulas. She was the co-founder of the Humane Society of the Dunes and was an animal advocate.
She is survived by two daughters, Margie Blatsioris of Lexington and Jane Hullsiek of Chesterton; two sons, James Blatsioris Jr. of Ogden Dunes and Dean Blatsioris of Munster; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Blatsioris Sr., who died in 2005; her parents; and one brother, Andrew.
The funeral was at SS. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison St., Merrillville. Burial was in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary.
