My daddy was my hero. He was the gentlest, kindest Man I have ever met. I never heard him say anything bad about anyone, he never drank, smoked, used bad language, raised his voice or anything that would mar his image or his faith in God. He was my Mom's hero, too. They were together 60 years and she said she never heard him raise his voice or use bad language either. I wish everyone could have a Dad like my Dad! He taught me about unconditional love, to be non-judgemental, to work hard and do every job to the best of my ability. Whatever he did through the years, I always helped him. When I was little, he would hold the nail and let me hammer. He taught me the name of tools and how to use them. I wish I could have had 55 more years with Daddy but I know I will see him again one day and I know he is playing his guitar and singing in the angel choir. He is not suffering from a bad heart, cancer and blindness anymore. He has a new body and we have to learn to walk without our hero here in this troubled world. I miss you more than words can ever say, Daddy! Thank you for the beautiful memories and laughs we shared! You could never imagine how much this Daddy's girl loves and misses her Daddy!

A poem for my Daddy:

What Makes A Dad
Author: Unknown

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it … "DAD!"
