MARTIN BEAM PASSES TODAY
-- Funeral Tomorrow Afternoon For Laurens Street Resident, Martin Beam, 71, died at his home at 87 Laurens street at 6 a.m. today after an illness of the past eight weeks.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. J. J. Boone officiating. Interment will be in Laurelwood cemetery.

Mr. Beam had been in bad health for the past 11 years.

He was born June 11, 1868 in Fairfield county, a son of Mr and Mrs George Beam, both of Fairfield county. He had lived in Rock Hill for the past 16 years and was engaged in textile work. He was a member of Northside church.

Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Fannie Branch and the following children of a previous marriage; Mrs. Nannie Brooks of Columbia; Melvin Beam of Rock Hill, Mrs. Carrie Belle Coleman of Union, Robert Bean and Johnny Beam of Rock Hill. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Jennie Haile of Lancaster.
