Bianchina " Bianca " was a stray we took in. We named her Bianchina because she was mostly white. Bianchina translates in Italian as "little white one". She had been terribly abused. Life had never been kind to her. When we got her, life improved for her. She had had a litter of puppies before then but I never saw them. I was just a child back then but I loved that little dog. She was a sweet, loving dog. Her only thing was chasing people riding bicycles especially the mail man. She sometimes managed to get out and she would chase the mail man all the way down our street. Besides that she was a great dog. I hope her years with us made up for some of the horrible things she experienced. She lived with us for many years but despite veterinary care, she passed away. She was going for treatment every day. On the day she passed away, my Grandfather went to her napping spot, Bianchina had died sometime that morning. The cause of that was never really clear. In the end what was some disease with her liver turned into multiple organ failure. She was a great little dog who never deserved the cruelty she was subjected to. No living creature does. She is now at Rainbow Bridge where she will finally be happy.
