Giuseppe Cerne was born in Trieste, Italy. He was the third of five children of Carolina Susa and her husband Carlo Cerne.
He lived in Trieste all of his life. He married Arianna Sbroiavacca. They did not want children and Arianna only got pregnant once, and she miscarried.

Pino had been a bachelor but when he met Arianna, she was the one. They were married until he passed.
Pino was a doting uncle to his niece Denise (my mother). When he got home from work and she happenned to be visiting, Pino would just play with her and they would have a blast.
He worked for many years as a linotypist for the city paper "Il Piccolo". When Pino passed away the newspaper published a very nice article about Pino and it also included a photo of him in his younger days.
Before Pino got sick, he was a very active man and when he had days off he and his wife would go for excursions together. They were a very close couple and did all fun things such as going on little trips together.
As he got older Pino started showing signs that something was wrong. He was given the diagnosis of Parkinson Disease and in his last years the progression of his disease kept him house bound and towards the end he needed help a lot. His loving wife provided him with all the care he needed and made sure he was comfortable and happy. She was completely devoted to her husband until his death at the age of 84.
Pino was the last of Carolina and Carlo's children to die. He was preceaded in death by his sister Giorgia Cerne Saitz who died in 1991 at the age of 81.
He also had a baby sister waiting for him in Heaven Mariuccia Cerne who died in infancy. Also there to greet him were his two brothers Carlo and Giorgio who had died many years before and of course his parents.

My Uncle Pino was a great man who always cared for his family, no matter what. I only visited Pino and Arianna once in Trieste. He was already ill then but he was a nice man and since I was a hyper child back then he called me a funny word in the Trieste dialect. It was a word for this little magical creature and I guess he was a hyper little creature just like me. I will always remember my visit there. They had a nice quaint apartment.

Age: 84 years, 3 months, and 8 days
