Danny Lee Spinks died in the Intensive Care Unit of Good Samaritan Hospital on February 13, 2005, following a heart attack on February 10.
He was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on November 7, 1951, to Harvey Massey and Phyllis Jean Kuhn Massey. His brothers and sisters are, Roger, Linda, and Roy.
At birth he was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Larry and Madeline Spinks. He grew up with a younger brother and sister, Teresa and John Spinks.
On February 10, 1973, he married Sharon Wymer. Together they went on to have five daughters before they divorced in 1984. Angela, Kristi, Heather, Dani, and Meagon.
Because of medical conditions which disqualified him from combat, he served stateside during Vietnam. He worked in communications and was honorably discharged from Fort Riley in Kansas in 1976. Afterwards he moved back home to Ohio with his wife and daughter.
At the time of his death, he had five grandchildren, Steven, Kendra, Chase, Alyson, and Gary. The following year, another granddaughter, Ashley, was born.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Harvey and Phyllis, his father, Larry, and two daughters, Angela and Dani. His mother, Madeline died two years later.
He is buried in Veterans Memorial Garden at Woodlawn Cemetery.
