WWII Veteran Army

Stephen was the 7th of 8 children of Ferenc and Teresa Pelikan. He was born in NYC, and after grammar school, became an electrician by trade.
He was in the US Army from 1938-1942, and was a medic.
After the War he returned to his profession:
"Recording Engineer, Radio or Electrician* or Electrician, Motion Picture (Motion picture electrician. ) or Electrician" as listed in his enlistment papers.
He worked for a major broadcasting studio in NY...either ABC or NBC.
Stephen never married, and lived with his older, bachelor brother Zoltan in Woodside, Queens, NY.
Before that they lived in a railroad style apartment on the Upper East Side of NYC. There Uncle Steve had a trunk full of comic books and toys and would sit on the floor and play with his young nieces and nephews.
This is one of my dear memories of him.
They were both my GreatUncles, and while Zol was outgoing, Steve, reclusive.
I was later told this was a result of his Army days, but am not sure.
While Steve did not attend family functions; it is my understanding he knew what was going on with the whole family.
Family is family, as my Grandmother would say..and the most important thing.

Many, many thanks to Maspeth for taking the photo of the headstone. It answered so many questions.

Thank you Ahley for sponsoring this page.
