DIVIDED COURT GAMES
Town teams of White City and Delavan divided a double header clash last night. The double header first team smothered the Delavan quintet under a 38 to 14 score in which Simonton shot 18 and Carson shot 17. The second string game was a genuine battle. At the end of the game the score was tied 10 all, and an extra period of play was necessary. Delavan got the jump on their rivals and sank the winning basket for a 12 to 10 victory. Bob Briix was high man for Delavan and George Hickey for White City. Monday the White City teams will go to Lost Springs.

Suit was filed in district court this morning by Wanda Briix, a teacher at Delavan, from Robert Briix. The plaintiff in her petition alleges that the couple was married in Winfield in 1930 and are the parents of three children. The court is asked to grant a divorce on the grounds of gross neglect of duty, give custody of the children to plaintiff and allow adequate support for the minors. ROBERT C. BRIIX

Robert C. Briix, 73, of 5025 N. Michigan, Kansas City, North, died Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Hospital. He was born in Delavan, KS and had lived in this area 35 years. Mr. Briix was a heavy-machine operator for the J.A. Tobin Construction Co. 34 years before he retired in 1978. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church, Delavan. Mr. Briix was a member of Local 101 of the Operating Engineers Union. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marie L. Briix, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lowther, Emporia, KS, and Mrs. Bonnie Thompson, McPherson, KS; a sister, Mrs. Louise Zschiele, Burlington, KS; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Newcomer White Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the oncology unit at Trinity Lutheran Hospital.

Town teams of White City and Delavan divided a double header clash last night. The double header first team smothered the Delavan quintet under a 38 to 14 score in which Simonton shot 18 and Carson shot 17. The second string game was a genuine battle. At the end of the game the score was tied 10 all, and an extra period of play was necessary. Delavan got the jump on their rivals and sank the winning basket for a 12 to 10 victory. Bob Briix was high man for Delavan and George Hickey for White City. Monday the White City teams will go to Lost Springs.

DELAVAN TEACHER SUES FOR DIVORCE
Suit was filed in district court this morning by Wanda Briix, a teacher at Delavan, from Robert Briix. The plaintiff in her petition alleges that the couple was married in Winfield in 1930 and are the parents of three children. The court is asked to grant a divorce on the grounds of gross neglect of duty, give custody of the children to plaintiff and allow adequate support for the minors. ROBERT C. BRIIX

Robert C. Briix, 73, of 5025 N. Michigan, Kansas City, North, died Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Hospital. He was born in Delavan, KS and had lived in this area 35 years. Mr. Briix was a heavy-machine operator for the J.A. Tobin Construction Co. 34 years before he retired in 1978. He was a member of the first United Methodist Church, Delavan. Mr. Briix was a member of Local 101 of the Operating Engineers Union. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marie L. Briix, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lowther, Emporia, KS, and Mrs. Bonnie Thompson, McPherson, KS; a sister, Mrs. Louise Zschiele, Burlington, KS; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Newcomer White Chapel; burial in White Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the oncology unit at Trinity Lutheran Hospital.
