R. L. ALLEN, 74, DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER
---R. L. Allen, aged 74 years, a former resident of the LaPlata neighborhood, died today at noon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Shumaker, 215 West Scott Street. The funeral will be held from her home at 12 o'clock Tuesday and until that time the body will lie in state. Arrangements for burial had not been made up to the hour of going to press.
---Besides Mrs. Shumaker, he leaves six other children, as follows:
---Ben Allen, of Elmer; Bill Allen of Gifford; Mrs. Tena Musick, of LaPlata, Henry Allen, of Mammoth, Colo., Mrs. Ben Roberts, Hazelton, Kas., and Mrs. Ada Shumaker, of Madrid, Iowa.
---Mr. Allen had been in Kirksville for about six months, and prior to that time had lived west of LaPlata.

---Word has reached her of the death of Mr. R. L. Allen of Kirksville, death occurring at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Shumaker at 215 West Scott, Monday at noon. Mr. Allen will be will remembered by the older people of LaPlata having resided near here for a number of years. He had been at the home of his daughter six months.
---Besides Mrs. Shumaker he is survived by six other children, namely:
---Ben Allen of Elmer, Bill Allen of Gifford, Mrs. Tina Musick, of La Plata, Henry Allen of Mammoth, Colo., Mrs. Ben Roberts, Hazelton, Kan., and Mrs. Ada Shumaker of Madrid, Iowa.
---Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Shumaker in Kirksville.
