Jonathan fell in the line of duty on June 4, 2008 near Kirkuk. He was born on May 17, 1988 in Dallas, Texas. He joined the United States Army at the age of 17, he was an Airborne Ranger with the 1-87 Infantry Battalion 10th Mountain Division. J.D. attended Boles High School where he played football. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and great-grandparents. J.D. is survived by his loving parents, David and Debbie Emard of Terrell; sister, Jennifer Marler and husband Justin of Terrell; niece, Cina; grandmother, Jean Emard of Garland; uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. JD loved drawing, soccer, football and had a very outgoing personality.
