Specialist, Iowa Army National Guard, 2133rd Transportation Company. Also known as "George" to his family and friends. Killed in action near Hadithah, Iraq, when his convoy was hit by rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was a 1999 graduate of Tipton High School, where he was a member of the FFA, football team, and baseball team. He was an Iowa Hawkeyes, Michigan Wolverines, and NASCAR fan. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant.
