Wife of Benjamin Franklin (Frank) Barnhart & William Jesse Reeves Johnson, mother of Frances, Emma and Ethel Barnhart. Born Martha Edith daughter of Samuel Milby Walker Sr. & Rebecca Anna Brown.
After the death of her second husband in Indiana, Edith came to Michigan to live with her daughter Frances Barnhart Gnass. She lived the rest of her life in Royal Oak, MI and was very active in the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865.
