Jim was the son of John Vincent Smedick, Sr, and Mary Yanok of Torrington, Connecticut. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam war and was a POW for two years. He worked for the Harris County Sheriffs department since 1984. Jim was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Mary Elaine. He is survived by his wife, Donna; three children, Mark Smedick, Michele Smedick and Jenifer Regish; his sister, Christine Smedick; his brother, John Smedick, Jr.; his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
